We make voluntary benefits simple:  80% of the brokers and consultants we work with ask us to do presentations for their clients.  Why?  They want what is best for their clients and feel American Worksite's 40+ years of experience gives them an advantage and builds additional credibility in the eyes of their client employers.

What if your client already has voluntary benefits?  American Worksite can assist you in a needs-analysis of the existing plans, create product comparisons where necessary, and work with you and your client on how best to implement and communicate their new voluntary benefits program--a program better for their employees--and one the employees actually understand.

Proactive involvement:  Once you and your client select the right products, we at American Worksite create a letter of understanding spelling out each step in the process.  This allows you to monitor our service to your client.  Our mission is to exceed your expectations.  No one in the industry does it better.

  Products selection

A.  What are voluntary benefits?  They are typically insurance or insurance-related products offered by employers, associations, unions, or institutions functioning as a multi-member group and paid for through payroll-deduction or another group format.  The type of programs available grow steadily.  The most common are life insurance, short-term or long-term disability, dental, vision, medical supplement, cancer, long-term care, intensive-care, and critical-care.  More recently, peripheral benefits are offered--legal plans and pet-care, for instance.

B.  Why would anyone want them?  Many small companies can't afford extensive benefits packages.  Voluntary benefit programs enhance the compensation package by making affordable protection available on a group basis.  Larger employers have found that insurance is not a "one size fits all" proposition--employees have differing needs, often based on age, family structure, salary levels, and a multitude of variables.  A comprehensive voluntary-benefits program offers choices.

C.  Who benefits from a voluntary-benefits program?  Statistics from multiple sources show that most Americans have only minimal access to affordable insurance.  A large percentage report they have no life insurance other than that provided at the workplace.  Voluntary benefits are frequently available for both employee and family coverage.  Numerous studies indicate employees welcome the opportunity to purchase benefits through payroll deduction at the workplace.

  Enrollment--the key to success
The key to a successful, positive, profitable enrollment is seeing employees in a manner that works well for your client and their employees.  The key to a successful enrollment is outlining your clients' expectations.  We do that with the Letter of Understanding.

We customize how we meet  with the employees--either in group meetings, one-on-one counseling, or a combination.  It may be electronic (using laptops) or paper.  In every case, salaried benefit counselors are the cornerstone of our process.  The products are presented professionally, without sales pressure.

Benefit statements can be provided to employees, and deduction registers are created for payroll departments to easily implement, collect and remit premiums.  In addition, American Worksite can produce a single bill for employers to submit payments to the carriers.

This comprehensive approach through all phases leads to satisfied customers and long-time relationships.

  Broker compensation--why American Worksite?
You choose from the best carriers--those whose products give you a better portfolio for your client, many times at lower cost for their employees.  Your client gets an improved benefits offering for their employees and sometimes significant tax savings as well.  American Worksite enhances the package you can offer throughout the process.  You receive a commission split on all sales.  How can it get better than that?  We combine caring with great compensation.

  Enrollment is just the beginning...
We do the billing!  Our clients tell us we make voluntary benefits easy because we have people dedicated to making sure the deductions are correct and the bills from the carriers are right.  For a small service charge we will consolidate all voluntary programs, monitor changes and interface with all carriers.  This means your clients' human resource personnel have a single contact for all their voluntary benefits.

Claims help:  Our service team already has the client company's voluntary benefit details, so all an employee has to do is call our toll-free number and we help to get the claim started.

Staying in touch:  After the enrollment is complete, we meet with the client at least three times during the year to determine how the plans are working, learn how we can better serve your client and prepare for the next enrollment (92% of our clients want us to re-enroll their employees at their anniversary).  After each meeting we give you a full report.  It is like adding another service person to your team.

Exceeding your expectations:  From start to finish our mission is to exceed your expectations.  Your clients deserve the best, and brokers and consultants who work with us feel the same way.  That is why 90% of our business comes from brokers who have worked with us already or have been referred by other brokers.

American Worksite's knowledge and 40 years of experience will enhance your client relationships.  Also, our consulting approach means you will be able to match the right voluntary programs to your clients' needs.
